Every guy who was between 10 and 40 in the late ’70s/early ’80s had a case of the hots for Princess Leia. Even the gay ones. I did too, though I can’t explain why since Carrie Fisher isn’t really that sexy. And of course there’s the famous Friends episode to back me up.

This year the ’shocking and immoral’ bikini reaches its 60th birthday–though the Wikipedia entry says they were first seen at least a year earlier and possibly even in ancient Roman art. Created in the aftermath of World War II by a French automobile engineer, the manufacturer of these outrageous swimsuits had to hire strippers because mainstream models refused to be photographed wearing them!
